Swine History
Bold barbecue energy brought to life in every line.
The Backyard Beginning (2016)
What started as two best friends with a shared love for barbecue quickly turned into something bigger. Mike Crooks and Erik Dutcher began by catering small gatherings for friends and family, fueled by passion and smoke. Word spread fast, weekends filled up, and soon Sarcastic Swine was building a loyal following at local breweries and food truck festivals — making people happy one bite at a time.
Planting Roots (2019–2020)
In Spring 2019, Sarcastic Swine opened its doors in Abington, MA, bringing high-quality, slow-smoked barbecue to the South Shore. The community showed up — and kept coming back — creating a strong, pork-loving fan base. Even during the challenges of 2020, the Swine stepped up, providing free meals for kids and earning recognition from The Phantom Gourmet.
Recognition & Growth (2022–2023)
As the smoke kept rolling, so did the accolades. In 2022, 98.5 The Sports Hub named Sarcastic Swine one of the 34 Best BBQ Restaurants in Massachusetts. From holiday pop-ups at Edaville Railroad to continued community love, the journey keeps growing — rooted in friendship, fueled by fire, and driven by flavor.
